ABBA VOYAGE

Opened May 2022

ABBA Voyage is one of the most highly celebrated concert events in the world and is playing now in London. Our designs uses hundreds of loudspeakers on the L-ISA platform and the first commercial implementaiton of L-Acoustics Ambience.

POEM OF THE ETERNAL CITY

July 2022

This show was created by Andrei Boltenko with music by Sami Yusuf to celebrate the opening of the Eternal City in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The show consisted of over a dozen live vocalists, a live 48-piece orchestra and live 28-piece folk orchestra.

51ST UAE NATIONAL DAY

December 2022

The ceremony was a celebration of the past and future of the UAE and was staged at the ADNEC parade ground in Abu Dhabi. The ceremony featured the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performing live with local Emirati musicians and thousands of cast.

Opened October 2022

Using over 120 loudspeakers over 64-channels of audio playback the Joy Awards Experience is an immersive journey into the life of a celebrity.

50TH UAE NATIONAL DAY

December 2021

The ceremony was staged at Hatta Dam in central UAE, a spectacular setting for a remarkable show. Our design used over 950 loudspeakers distributed around the site to provide a sonic depth of field with near, mid and far field loudspeakers.

49TH UAE NATIONAL DAY

December 2020

The 49th UAE National Day was staged on a natural body of water in a mangrove national park. The immersive experience featured a 36.1 loudspeaker arrangement using 300 loudspeakers.

THE FOUNDER'S MEMORIAL

The Founder's Memorial is a beautiful monument in Abu Dhabi built as a tribute to Sheikh Zayed. The unveiling of the Memorial was a complex event requiring multiple loudspeaker systems.

We were enaged only a few weeks prior to the start of the tournament to design an overlay loudspeaker system for Al Bayt Stadium, the venue for the Opening Ceremony and first match of FIFA 2022.

BIRMINGHAM 2022 COMMONWELTH GAMES

 July & August 2022

We were engaged by B2022 Ceremonies as the sound designer for the Ceremonies and to design the audio system for the Sports Presentation. Our design consisted of a ground stacked L-Acoustics K2 system and flown Kara II and Kiva II.

Our scope on this project was broad including audio design and engineering, communications systems design, show control systems design and creation of bespoke workflows for content creation and management.

MDL BEAST FESTIVAL

December 2019

With an audience of over 100,000 people, the MDL Beast music festival in Riyadh was a massive project and delivered in an impossibly short time frame. Our design for main stage used over 400 loudspeakers to deliver concert sound to the 80,000 capacity venue.

UAE 48TH NATIONAL DAY

December 2019

The 48th UAE National Day was a hugely ambitious and technically challenging project. The comparatively simple audio system consisted of a distributed stereo arrangement of over 300 loudspeakers throughout the stadium.

This event in St Petersburg set a new world record for the largest orchestra ever at 8,097 musicians. We were engaged by the CSA of Moscow to help develop a plan to coordinate and rehearse such a large group of musicians and work out strategies to keep the players in time.

Working with ARS Electronica, we designed a control system using Crestron to provide the venue managers and technical team with a simple user interface for controlling the complex audio and video systems.

As part of our role as sound designer for ABBA Voyage we also designed and implemented the show control systems including Ovation replay, time code sync, foyer systems and control of the immersive systems deployed in the entry tunnels.

EXPO 2020 DUBAI

2021 - 2022

Expo 2020 show control was one of a kind in that part of our work was to determine workflows to deliver 14 hours per day of immersive content for the 27.6 audio system including managing triggering and sync between sound, video and lighting.

DINOSAURS IN THE WILD

2018

This event was a 1-hr guided immersive experience taking the audience back to the time of the dinosaurs where a research facility has been built to study the wildlife. This case study focuses on our design and implementation of the complex show control system.

The Realm of Shadows is a permanent puppet show commissioned by LegoLand Malaysia. This case study looks at the show control system we designed and implemented for the show that allows the whole show to be run by a single technician.

PINK FLOYD - THEIR MORTAL REMAINS

2017

Their Mortal Remains was one of the most successful exhibitions ever at the V&A in London. The exhibition has since been to Germany and Italy and continues to receive excellent reviews. This case study focuses on our show control system design.

This is a case study of our work on the MBZ Majlis Lecture Hall construction project. A lecture hall with three separate loudspeaker systems and active acoustics.

ABBA ARENA

Opened May 2022

Our acoustic designs for ABBA Arena specified the installation of a huge quantity of acoustic treatment to control the low frequency reverberation. We then implemented active acoustics using L-Acoustics Ambience to enhance the mid and high frequency reverberation.

DP WORLD PAVILION

Expo 2020 Dubai

The DP World Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai included a large atrum space with a water feature. Our scope was to provide acoustic design to control the reverberation of the space and provide a room that could host performances and events.

The King's Hall at MOAD is one of the most significant spaces in the history of Australian politics and is regularly used to host important events. We implemented new acoustical finishes to improve inteligibility whilst protecting the original architecture.

A new puppet show for Lego Land Malaysia that was built into an existing space that was not intended for performance. The space required significant acoustical treatment to support the 28-channel immersive audio system.

MACALLAN SPECIAL EVENT

November 2022

We were engaged by LGME to design and operate audio for the special event hosted in the new Macallan Estate distillery building in Scotland. Our design included the creation of an acoustic simulation of the distillery running and a theatrical shutdown sequence.

PEARL MAJLIS

August 2021

The Pearl Majlis is a VIP space within Al Wasl Plaza that is an airconditioned room with an excellent view of the dome projection but isolated from the sound. Our design for the space takes the rendered audio and reproduces a scalled down configuration of 15.1.

Expo 2020 Dubai

The Austrian Pavilion featured an interactive sound design that tracked the movement of guests and augmented the content based on their movement. Our scope was to desgin and configure the audio system into the space and commission the sound with the composer.
