Auditoria Wins Communicator Award for Baku 2015 European Games

We’re delighted to share that Auditoria has been recognised at the 22nd Annual Communicator Awards, receiving an Award of Distinction for our work on the Baku 2015 European Games.

Presented by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, the Communicator Awards honour excellence, effectiveness and innovation in communication across all media. The Award of Distinction is given to projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement, and we’re proud to be counted among this year’s recipients.

This particular recognition was for our sound design for the Baku 2015 European Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies, an ambitious and visually spectacular pair of shows produced by 5 Currents. Our scope included front-of-house, broadcast, and monitoring system architecture, redundant signal transport, RF systems, replay integration, and on-site technical leadership throughout. The project took place at the newly constructed Baku National Stadium, which hosted more than 65,000 spectators and a global broadcast audience of millions.

Scott Willsallen, Auditoria’s director, explains, “The content we were working with was spectacular,  musically and visually it was a brilliant show, so we were given a pretty strong advantage from the outset. We approached the project using the same tried-and-tested methods we bring to every event, and I think we were recognised for really delivering the experience of the live show to the broadcast audience, just as it was experienced in the venue. To have our work recognised is incredibly meaningful.”

And of course, thanks to the Communicator Awards and the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts for this honour, it means a lot to be recognised by our peers in the creative and communications industries.
