The Brief

Auditoria were engaged by Done + Dusted Experiences to create and deliver the audio for the launch of Throne and Liberty, a large-scale multiplayer online game introduced to the region through Qiddiya Gaming.

The project centred on a drone show staged within Boulevard World in Riyadh, using hundreds of drones to form animated sequences in the night sky. Auditoria’s role was to create the accompanying soundtrack, manage playback and ensure the show could be delivered across the park-wide audio system.

The site itself is extensive, with audio distributed across a large public environment rather than a single viewing area, adding another layer to how the soundtrack needed to be delivered.

The Challenge

Unlike a fixed piece of content, the timing of a drone show is directly linked to the movement of the drones themselves. Changes to animation sequences affect how long it takes for drones to reposition, which in turn alters the timing of the entire show.

As the creative evolved, the audio had to follow. This meant the soundtrack couldn’t be treated as a single linear composition. Instead, it needed to be built in sections that could be adjusted and reassembled to match the latest version of the animation while still feeling cohesive.

There was also the practical challenge of delivering playback across a large site. The show needed to integrate with an existing park-wide Bose system, requiring coordination with the on-site technical team to ensure reliable coverage and synchronisation.

Our Approach

Auditoria developed the soundtrack using a combination of original material and assets from the game itself, including music and sound effects. These were arranged into a structure that could be adapted as the drone choreography evolved.

The audio was built in modular sections, allowing timing adjustments to be made without rebuilding the entire piece. This made it possible to respond to ongoing changes while keeping the relationship between sound and visual moments intact.

Playback and timecode were managed using QLab, with a compact Yamaha console supporting the control setup. Close coordination with the park’s technical team ensured the show could be delivered consistently across the site’s distributed audio system.

Communication between departments was supported by a dedicated comms system, allowing the audio team to stay aligned with the drone operators, who were positioned remotely from the main site.

The Results

The drone show launched successfully at Boulevard World, combining large-scale aerial visuals with a soundtrack designed to follow the movement of the drones in real time.

The modular approach to the music allowed the audio to remain aligned with the evolving choreography throughout the production process.

Delivered across a large public environment, the system supported a shared audience experience across the site, marking the regional launch of Throne and Liberty with a clear and coordinated presentation.
